CFD
Computational Fluid Dynamics
CFD, or Computational Fluid Dynamics, is a discipline concerned with analysing fluid flow through numerical methods and computational algorithms. It makes it possible to study the behaviour of fluids, such as liquids and gases, by analysing the equations that describe their movement and solving them through computer simulations.
CFD is widely used across various sectors, including aerospace, automotive, marine engineering and energy. Through CFD, it is possible to assess the performance of an aircraft wing, optimise the shape of a car to reduce drag, or study the dispersion of pollutants within an environment. It provides detailed flow information, such as pressure, velocity and force distribution, allowing informed design decisions to be made and improving the efficiency of fluid dynamic systems.
