Industrial photovoltaic systems for a sustainable future

Industrial and utility-scale photovoltaic systems are an efficient and sustainable solution for companies wishing to reduce their energy costs and environmental impacts. In addition to systems installed on warehouses and other production facilities, Protesa is also involved in the construction of large-scale ground-mounted photovoltaic systems for energy distribution. This allows companies not only to harness solar energy for their own needs, but also to contribute clean energy to the grid, optimising the management of energy resources and participating in long-term sustainability projects.

Protesa offers turnkey solutions that include the design and installation of industrial and utility-scale photovoltaic systems, as well as ongoing maintenance, guaranteeing maximum efficiency and long-term durability. We support the customer at every stage with a customised approach, ensuring that each photovoltaic system is optimised for the company’s specific energy needs. Our commitment to sustainability thus translates not only into facilities that reduce the client's carbon footprint, but also into innovative solutions for energy self-consumption and energy generation and sales.

Industrial photovoltaics:
RED HEART. GREEN MIND.

Making your company more energy efficient means reducing consumption and cutting costs through the use of renewable energy. Protesa offers integrated solutions ranging from industrial photovoltaic systems installed on warehouses and production facilities to large utility-scale systems installed on the ground. Since 2009, we have been involved in the design, installation and maintenance of turnkey photovoltaic systems that enable companies to improve their competitiveness by reducing their dependence on traditional energy sources.

Investing in photovoltaics not only improves your company’s energy efficiency, but also contributes to a more responsible management of natural resources, reducing environmental impacts. This sustainablechoice is an important step towards an increasingly green future.

Development of customised industrial photovoltaic systems: stages

  1. Check-Up

Identification of the potential for energy improvement through technical inspections and analysis of opportunities for installing photovoltaic systems on industrial building or large ground-mounted systems.

  2. Flash Audit

Preliminary feasibility study for utility-scale or industrial photovoltaic systems, with analysis of opportunities to optimise self-consumption and energy production.

  3. Master Plan (Energy Saving)

Detailed energy diagnosis and drafting of an optimised plan for state-of-the-art photovoltaic installations, both for industrial facilities and large-scale projects.

  4. Business Plan

Preparation of a business plan for industrial and utility-scale photovoltaic projects, including evaluation of the return on investment and sales potential of the energy produced.

  5. Engineering Procurement Construction

Complete project management, from the design and installation of the systems to commissioning and applications for incentives relating to rooftop systems or utility-scale photovoltaic systems.

  6. Service

Preventive action and continuous monitoring of installations, with routine and extraordinary maintenance to ensure optimal operation and maximum performance of industrial photovoltaic and large-scale ground-mounted installations. We offer administrative support to maintain the system in operation and optimise energy self-consumption.

Tax credits for the installation of industrial photovoltaic panels

Companies investing in the installation of industrial or large-scale photovoltaic systems, such as utility-scale systems, can benefit from significant tax credits thanks to the Transition 5.0 Plan introduced by Decree-Law No. 19/2024. This incentive is designed to promote both the self-production and self-consumption of energy from renewable sources, as well as the production and sale of energy, with a specific focus on systems that guarantee high levels of energy efficiency and sustainability.
The tax credit increases according to the certified improvement in energy efficiency, with projects controlled and monitored by the GSE, and can reach up to 45% in the case of a substantial reduction in energy consumption. Newly established companies will also be eligible for the incentive.

The measure includes a tax credit scheme for investments made between 2024 and 2025 for the purchase of goods necessary for self-production and self-consumption from renewable sources, excluding biomass (these include industrial solar panels produced in the EU with an efficiency of at least 21.5%. There is an increase of 120% and 140% respectively for those with higher efficiency under the Energy Decree).

Revamping:

Our revamping service is designed to modernise existing photovoltaic systems, improving their efficiency and production capacity. We carry out a detailed analysis of the current system, identifying areas that can be optimised through the upgrading of technologies and key components. This extends the life of the system and maximises energy yield.

Service:

We offer a comprehensive Operation & Maintenance (O&M) service to ensure continuous and optimised photovoltaic system functionality. We take care of routine and extraordinary maintenance, constantly monitoring system performance to prevent breakdowns and minimise downtime. We also assist with administrative management and regulatory compliance, ensuring that your system remains fully operational and efficient.
