Augmented reality (figure to the left) is a technology that allows virtual elements to be superimposed onto the real world, creating a hybrid experience between the physical and digital worlds. AR offers numerous benefits across various fields, such as gaming, education, healthcare and design, and is a promising technology that is set to become increasingly important and widespread in the coming years thanks to the development of computer vision technologies and the increased processing power of mobile devices.
AR streaming (figure to the right) enables the use of high-quality 3D models thanks to its processing power and ability to handle large amounts of data. This means that users can visualise and manipulate complex models in AR with greater precision and detail than with conventional AR. Thanks to streaming technology, users can access AR applications from different devices without having to download and install the application directly onto their device.
In short, AR streaming offers advantages in terms of collaboration, model quality and flexibility in the deployment of augmented reality applications.
